This current situation was not started by this administration, I'd not even lay the blame on Clinton as much as I dislike him. This has been the work of several administrations, Clinton did pull the plug on inspectors (mighty gutsy of him); however, there were so many others helping this guy get in power and keep him there it isn't even funny. I also reject your views that there isn't a threat in Iraq either; however, having said that, how do we deal with him? Personally, I wish no one had ever said regime change; simply containing him may of been enough. I'm not sure if that is possible, but I do believe having inspectors there from now, till forever, would of more than likely been enough. Though there is great room for doubt there I'm afraid. Since a state sponsored weapons program does not have to be a major production to produce some weapons like chemical or biological. Many labs I've been around have all be quite small in size. In addition to that, we have the real danger that some production of other missile type weapons could be built too, without anyone really being the wiser. Iraq is a large country and unless you have people telling you where to look odds are you are not going to stubble on them. Since we have been enlighten to the fact that there are those who hate us, and our way of life. We now know that there are those willing to kill us because of this hate. They are bent on doing so, and I'm afraid that Sept 11 is going to haunt us all world wide for years to come. I dislike the prospect of war and I'd like to see it avoided. I also dislike the idea that now the government feels the need to monitor as much as they can where ever it can too. To me our government trying to protect us is going to cause us more harm then our enemies in the long run. The chipping away of all or our liberties is the begging. Either we trust and live and let live or we monitor everyone after a while, I don't see how or why they will stop trying to watch everything. The envelope will be pushed and pushed until we have lost our rights to privacy. The trouble with all this is I can complain about what I see coming, but I really don't have any suggestions on how to avoid the dangers from without, and keep us from the dangers from within.
