"Ruby Jean and Billy Lee" is a song by Seals and Croft
There are many who believe that the Muslim/Islamic religion teaches that those who do not believe in the teachings of the Holy Quran are infidels and are to be destroyed. This is a lie. The Holy Quran does not teach that aggressive war is approved of by Allah any more than the Bible teaches that aggressive war is approved by Christ. Those who profess belief in either religion are denying their faith by giving their support to an aggressive war against another nation. Both the Holy Quran and the Holy Bible teach respect for truth, the pursuit of peace - not war; and above all - love.
"Permission to fight is given to those upon whom war is made because they are oppressed, and Allah is well able to assist them; those who have been expelled from their homes without a just cause except that they say, Our Lord is Allah." Holy Quran (22: 39,40)
The Holy Quran allowed fighting only to save a persecuted community from powerful oppressors, and hence the condition was laid down that fighting was to be stopped as soon as persecution ceased.
"But if they desist, then Allah is Forgiving, Merciful, And fight against them until there is no more persecution." Holy Quran (2: 192-93)
"And if they incline to peace, do thou incline to it and trust in Allah; He is the Hearing, the Knowing. And if they intend to deceive thee, then surely Allah is sufficient for thee." Holy Quran (8: 61-62)
Now consider some excerpts from the Holy Bible. The first quote is the motto of the United Nations and it is carved in stone on the UN building in New York. The UN is supposed to be an instrument of peace, not war. The mentality that there must be war before there can be peace has cost legions of souls their lives throughout history.
"And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." Holy Bible (Isaiah 2: 4)
Jesus is referred to as "The Prince of Peace" in Isaiah 9: 6.
"Deception is in the heart of those fabricating mischief, but those counseling peace have rejoicing." Holy Bible (Proverbs 12: 20)
"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not wage warfare according to what we are in the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but powerful by God for overturning strongly entrenched things." Holy Bible (2 Corinthians 10: 3-4)
"Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth... Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God." Holy Bible (Matthew 5: 5,9)
People who argue in favor of an aggressive war against other nations have denied their faith if they profess the religions whose teachings are based on either the Holy Quran or the Holy Bible; and yet there are many religious leaders in the world of these religions that argue in favor this very thing. It would be better if such people were outright atheists. At least then they would not be hypocrites.
"Woe to you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because you resemble whitewashed graves, which outwardly indeed appear beautiful but inside are full of dead men's bones and every sort of uncleanness. In that way you also, outwardly indeed appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness." Holy Bible (Matthew 23: 27-28)
I shall end the words of this web page with an excerpt from very beginning of "The Apology of Socrates."
"How you have felt, O men of Athens, at hearing the speeches of my accusers, I cannot tell; but I know that their persuasive words almost made me forget who I was, such was the effect of them; and yet they have hardly spoken a word of truth."
