Keep up your good work, and DO NOT take me off your list.
I don't know how old you are, but I grew up being lied to by the government. First they told me that if, during a nuclear attack, I crouch in the hallway of my school with my arms over my head, I will survive a nuclear attack. Later they wanted me to risk my life in southeast Asia to prevent the "domino effect" from turning the entire world communist. After that they told me that all the same qualities that qualified me as a good, productive citizen -- going to work every day, being willing to provide for and defend my family from harm -- disqualify me from continuing a parent-child relationship with my children.
Yes, "someone" (I don't know who) organized and financed the attack on the World Trade Center. I don't know whether or not there is a connection between Iraq and that "someone" or not. No one has proved it to me. And no one has proved to me that that backward little third world country has the ability to hurt anyone, and certainly doesn't have the technology to send a missile to the US. Nevertheless, my government now wants to send another generation of young people to someone else's home to annoy, harass, intimidate and ultimately kill them. They will be completely justified in fighting back, killing Americans now, and hating Americans forever.
Until someone proves to me that Iraq or Sadam Hussein is a direct threat to the US, I'm opposed to sending any Americans there. If he is a threat, we still don't need to send any Americans. Just send one atomic bomb (like we should have done in Viet Nam). What is the purpose of having this awesome power if you don't use it every once in a while to make sure everyone else takes you seriously?
